Ian Badgley, a local archaeologist will be visiting Corpus in February. He will present background information to the students to help them understand some of the history of the Aboriginal People in the Ottawa area and what evidence they have left behind.  Ian will share some artifacts that he has discovered in his research to bring the history to "life" and make it more concrete for the students.

This is phase 1 of the pilot project.  Ian will be planning what he would like KP to grades 6 students to do between February to June 2017.  Older students will most likely assist with cleaning and identifying artifacts already discovered.  As the spring/summer approaches, classes can participate in real digs in the Ottawa region, and/or participate in workshops where the students learn how the Aboriginal People made pottery and knives.
