Dear Corpus Christi Families,

I hope this memo finds you and your family safe and well. Corpus Christi was challenged this past weekend by a confirmed case of Covid-19 in our school community.  Since then, with Ottawa Public Health, we have worked extremely hard to ensure that all who may have come in contact with the virus are at home isolating. We continue to be patient as we await information and answers.   We continue to communicate with OPH and realize the tremendous work they are doing during these challenging times.

Special mention that in addition to the sanitization protocols in place, the entire school was able to undergo an additional deep sanitize on Monday of this week.  We are thankful for our custodial staff for ensuring that this occurred.

Our Primary Division has continued to learn here at school.  We continue to practice diligent hand-washing, sanitization and social distancing with increased awareness.  Staff and students have been excellent in ensuring that we all protect each other as best as we can.  Visors for students are now available at the office.  If you would like your child to wear a visor, please let their classroom teacher know.

OPH is available to support parent inquiries.  If you have any further questions you can call the Ottawa Public Health Information Centre at (613) 580-6744 to speak to a public health nurse.

Primary (K-3) Fancy Socks for Terry Fox @ Corpus Christi - Friday, September 25th

Tomorrow, our school will be holding a Primary Terry Fox walk.  All students are encouraged to wear their Fancy Socks for the walk.  This year the walk will be a little different.  In their cohorts, students will go on a community neighbourhood walk.  Each cohort will be given a designated time slot.  Due to the circumstances, the walk will not require volunteers.  We are asking for a small donation of $2.00 (aka - A Toonie for Terry) towards the Terry Fox Foundation.  This donation can be made directly to  ONLINE DONATION.

*Please note that we will be picking a date in the near future for our Junior (4-6) Fancy Socks for Terry Fox.  We want to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to participate in this very worthy event!

Orange Shirt Day @ Corpus Christi - Wednesday, September 30th

September 30th marks Orange Shirt Day in Canada.  Orange Shirt Day is an initiative “to commemorate the residential school experience, to witness and honour the healing journey of the survivors and their families, and to commit to the ongoing process of reconciliation.”  For further information about Orange Shirt Day, you can check out this website: http://www.orangeshirtday.org/.

Thanks for all of your ongoing support and cooperation.  Please Be Well.  #WeAreCorpusChristi
