We are part way through our Lenten journey as a community of faith and it is hard to believe that we are a stone’s throw from March Break.  Lent is a reflective time and one where we make small sacrifices and turn our hearts towards God.

As a Lenten Project this year, Corpus Christi is going to hold a Food Drive in support of our friends at the Shepherd’s of Good Hope.  Our drive will begin on Monday and run through until Holy Thursday.  The staff Shepherd’s of Good Hope have explained that while everything will be put to good use, items like dried pasta, peanut butter, coffee, and jam are also nice “add-ons” to the standard non-perishable donations.  Please feel free to send your donations in to school with your child starting Monday.

Upcoming Events and Dates:

  1. The Earth Rangers will be visiting Corpus Christi on Tuesday, March 8th during  Block 1.  Our local MP, Minister of the Environment, Catherine McKenna might be making a special appearance at this event!  It is all very exciting!  Check out http://www.earthrangers.com/ for a sneak peak!  Our students in Grades 1-6 will be invited to this presentation.

  2. We have had an incredible week of Blues in the Schools.  Mrs. Wong worked hard to bring them back to us and we learned so much!  All of our Grade 2 students will be working hard with musicians next week and will give a concert to the school on Friday, March 10th, at 9:30AM.  Families are welcome to attend.  Only Grade 2 students will be performing.

  3. Grade 3 and 6 students will have gone home today with FSL Pathway forms.  Please check their backpacks for these important forms.

  4. Winter Walk to School Day is Thursday, March 10th, 8:40AM-9:10AM, please contact the school is you are able to help out!  We still need volunteers.

  5. March Break is fast approaching.  School will be closed on Monday, March14th-Friday, March 18th.

  6. Easter Break follows very quickly this year.  School will be closed on Good Friday, March 26th and Easter Monday, March 28th.  Our school will celebrate Easter Mass as a community of faith at Blessed Sacrament on Friday, April 8th, at 9:30AM.

  7. Save the date!  Corpus Christi’s 90th Anniversary celebration will take place the morning of Friday, May 6th.  More information will follow closer to the date.
